CurlON will be hosting two townhouse meetings on July 8th to support the release of Curling Canada’s Return-to-Play guidelines.
In part 1, we laid out the case for cloud-based collaboration and communication, and in part 2, we reviewed some of the major technical platforms. In part 3, we’ll work on acquiring this technology... at no charge to you!
In Part 1, we talked about the current realities of groupwork, and how it could be the starting point for a new way of collaboration for your club. In part 2, we’ll talk about some of the platforms available to you and how you can integrate them into your club’s management structure.

In these unprecedented times, we’ve all had to adjust and change how we meet and collaborate for work.
But it doesn’t have to be temporary – what if your club made virtual storage and collaboration a regular part of how you run your business?

Based on the shortened season that many OVCA member clubs have had to face and the resulting financial challenges, the OVCA Board has decided that clubs with Development Fund loan payments due will be provided the opportunity to repay only the interest portion of such loans at this time. For clubs that opt to take advantage, the principal repayment will simply be delayed and the loan period extended appropriately.
Affected clubs have been contacted about this option.
The OVCA hopes you all stay well, and stay home!

As you are all aware, the concern about spread of COVID 19 (Coronavirus) is affecting everyone, perhaps around the entire world. And right now the problem is very close to home.
A number of teams entered in the Goldline City of Ottawa Men’s Bonspiel are travelling from areas where the virus is more prevalent than in Ottawa. In addition a lot of curlers in the bonspiel fit into a higher than normal vulnerable demographic and many have already expressed their concern about participating in the bonspiel. It does not make sense to continue with the event if it puts participants at risk of contracting the virus.
So, it is with deep reluctance and regret that the Board of Directors of the Ottawa Valley Curling Association has decided that the Goldline City of Ottawa Men’s Bonspiel will not take place as originally scheduled.
We will be providing full refunds to each team by way of a credit to the credit card that was used to pay the entry fee. However, this may take a week or so to complete so please be patient with us.
We appreciate your understanding and we hope to see everyone back for next year’s bonspiel.
